Sunny Days Ahead

It’s beginning to feel a lot like summer! Time for spending more time outside and wearing sunglasses! Truth is though, sun damage to your eyes can happen at anytime of the year not just bright sunny summer days.

Too much UV light exposure can increase your risk for certain eye conditions such as catarats, pingueculas/ pterygiums (growths on the eye), and even cancer. Just like you protect your skin it is important to protect your eyes from the UV radiation we are exposed to ,even on cloudy days.

Don’t forget about your children! UV damage is cumulative over our life time and studies have shown that about 80% of damage from the sun occurs before the age of 18.

Make sure to get yourself and your family members a good pair of sunglasses that help block out UV-radiation and keep your eyes healthy!
